Recognition from the Regional Government for Doctor Pino Navarro for her research on Diagnostic criteria of gestational diabetes

Doctor Pino Navarro, an endocrinologist at the Instituto Bernabeu, has received institutional recognition from the Regional Government of Valencia for her research centred on women entitled “Diagnostic criteria of gestational diabetes. An update?”.

The award ceremony took place on 9 February at the Centro de Investigación Príncipe Felipe in Valencia, as part of the conference Women, Science and Health, held to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science.  The director of the Endocrinology Department of the Instituto Bernabeu received her award for research centred on women from the Regional Minister for Universal and Public Health, Carmen Montón, at an event during which women and their contribution to science took the leading role.

The event, which asserted the role of women in science, covered topics such as women in neurosciences, gender biases in health research and the reduced presence of women scientists in the media.

Doctor Navarro is the author of numerous publications on diabetes and pregnancy and she specializes in the relationship between endocrinopathies and fertility. The specialist has worked at the Instituto Bernabeu since 2005.
